Southwark Playhouse operates an allocated seating policy in The Large and an unallocated seating policy in The Little. Every seat in The Large and The Little has a clear and unobstructed view of the stage. Occasionally a small number of seats may be held for our ushers, patrons with restricted mobility or members of the press on scheduled press nights. For the best chance of ensuring your party sits together please arrive at the venue well in advance of when the house opens.
Returned tickets will only be sold once all Southwark Playhouse seats are sold out and if the tickets were purchased through Southwark Playhouse Box Office. We cannot guarantee to re-sell any returned tickets. All tickets are returned on this understanding. We will re-sell tickets for the value printed on the ticket.
If you cannot use your tickets then you can either call us with at least one working day’s notice (during office hours which are Mon-Fri 10am-6pm) or notify us in person at the Box Office and we will attempt to resell them in the order they were returned to us. If you are attending the performance and have returned a ticket to us for resale then please check back with us at the interval or after the performance to see if it has been sold. If we have, we will provide you with a cash refund. If you are not at the performance to collect your refund, please call us on the next working day to ask if your ticket was re-sold on 020 7407 0234. Cash that has not been collected within three months will be considered a donation to our theatre’s work.
Purchasing returned tickets
If you wish to purchase a returned ticket, you will need to put your name on a returns list which opens 2 hours before the advertised start time of the performance. Ticket purchases are limited to 2 per person. We will ask you to check back with us at 30 minutes prior to the start of the show for an update on returned tickets. We may not be able to seat you until shortly before the start of the show. Please be patient. Tickets are re-sold in order of names on the returns list. If you are not present when we call your name we will move on to the next person on the returns list. We only accept cash as payment for returned tickets – we are unable to accept any other form of payment. We reserve the right to refuse admission.
Tickets that were purchased through Southwark Playhouse box office can be exchanged for another performance of the same production if tickets are returned to the box office in person or over the phone at least one working day before the original performance date (office hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6:30pm). An administration charge of £2 per ticket will apply. This service is subject to ticket availability.
Tickets are non-refundable unless a performance is cancelled.
Latecomers may be asked to wait in the foyer until an appropriate interval in the production. If there is no appropriate interval and admittance will cause disruption latecomers may be refused admission. No refund or exchange will be offered.
