Working with Schools, Colleges and Universities

Our relationship with schools, and other educational establishments, is at the core of all our education work at Southwark Playhouse. Through performances and projects we aim to:

  • Support teachers and course leaders with the integration of the arts into their curriculum.
  • Increase the participation of young people with cultural opportunities in their neighbourhood.
  • Support the development of students’ literacy and communication skills through theatre.

“…a really wonderful experience for our students, one that they will remember forever!”

“I learnt that when you perform, it doesn’t have to be on a grand stage, it could be small but good at the same time.”

We are always keen to develop new links, so if you are a teacher or course leader and would like more information on working with Southwark Playhouse, fill out the form below to make an enquiry.

Work Experience

Unfortunately Southwark Playhouse isn’t able to offer work experience placements as we are a very small full-time team. However, we are always looking for volunteer ushers, and would encourage anyone looking to gain customer service experience to get in touch here: Volunteer Stewarding

We Need Your Support

It’s been a difficult few years and things don’t seem to be letting up anytime soon.

Southwark Playhouse is a registered charity that delivers a year-round programme of entertaining and enriching work yet receives no regular funding.

Why not consider making a donation to help us keep on keeping on during these tough times!
