Volunteers are absolutely crucial to the smooth and successful running of Southwark Playhouse. Our FoH Volunteers are at the very heart of the Playhouse, get to see any of our shows for free and become part of the Southwark Playhouse family.
FoH Volunteer Responsibilities:
To perform a vital role as the public face of Southwark Playhouse during our performances and events, ensuring that our patrons have a positive, enjoyable and safe experience.
Providing a high level of customer service
Checking tickets and show patrons to their seats
Sell programmes and other merchandise
Sit in performances and monitor the behaviour of the audience
Clear and tidy the auditorium after the performance
Ensure that all audience members comply with Southwark Playhouse’s specific rules and regulations
Deal with audience related enquiries and problems
Understand and carry out the evacuation procedure if necessary

We need people with a pleasant manner, enthusiasm, a willingness to follow instruction and plenty of commitment. We need our stewards to commit to at least two shifts per calendar month for at least 6 months. Shifts vary from afternoon, evening and weekend and you are free to choose your own shifts. We provide front of house training and ongoing support.
