Details

★★★★ “tremendously captivating… always moving” Evening Standard

‘There’s simply nothing like it on the London stage. Juana in a Million? More like your Juana-chance-in-a-lifetime to see an unforgettable performance.’ Camden New Review

Winner of a Fringe First Award at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Juana in a Million is a powerful new one-woman show exploring true stories of immigrants to the UK. Emergent Mexican author-performer Vicky Araico Casas brings vividly to life her colourful cast of characters, lending stunning immediacy to her own immigrant experience and that of many others.

Directed and co-written by Nir Paldi (of multi-award-winning Theatre Ad Infinitum), and informed by new social research, Juana in a Million weaves a moving tale of survival, betrayal and hope.

Intensely physical, darkly comic and ultimately heart-breaking, Juana in a Million is a tour-de-force.

The Press on Juana in a Million

★★★★ “this is a beautiful piece of physical theatre, featuring a remarkable performance from Araico Casas…a show that sheds such urgent light on the abuse that so many immigrant women are suffering right now in our own country. A must-see.” The Telegraph
★★★★ “Vicky Araico Casas’s exquisitely compact one-woman show” The Scotsman
“You will leave Juana in a Million feeling shell-shocked…The plight of South American women is one that vitally needs to be raised, and Juana in a Million is a dazzling way to do it.” The Stage
